GeneralGuidelinesRegardless of the kind of analysis you wish to accomplish on your data, MEG analysis is carried on an individual's data rather than on a group data (as often done in EEG). One critical reason for the individual-based approach is that the position of the head in the dewar will vary from person to person (in eeg, the positioning of the cap is fairly accurate among individuals). There are other differences that account for this tradition and that pertain to the nature of the signal itself. 1. Prior to any preprocessing step, look at your raw data carefully at least once to detect any abnormalities (sensor transient jump for instance). Keep track of noisy sensors, abnormal noise etc 2. If you used the "maxshield on" option during the acquisition of your data, you need to preprocess your data using Maxfilter. 3. |
